Going to the Contact section, you will see the total number of contacts in your CRM listed.
There are multiple search options in the search fields:
Keyword - this is a general keyword search that looks in profile information for the data you are looking up. If you search for 'Lisa', the results will be all contacts with "Lisa' in the profile information. If you search for 'Lisa Smith', the results will be all 'Lisa' and all 'Smith' and rank them by relevance so Lisa Smith would be first in a large number of possibilities. This field also supports Boolean searches (please read further down for more on Boolean help). Boolean is useful for more specific searching. For example, if I type Mark in the search window, I will get all profiles with the word Mark. However, if I use Boolean and search first_name:Mark, I will only get profiles where the first name is Mark, a smaller set than profiles where Mark is a word within the profile information. Select the Boolean information link for hints about using Boolean search.
KEYWORD Must NOT Have - Uses 'NOT' logic to search contacts. If you enter 'manager' it will return contacts that do not have the specific word 'manager' in their data. If you type 'nurse manager', it will return contacts that do not have 'nurse manager' in their data. It would show contacts who have 'nurse ER manager' since that is not the specific string.
LOCATION - use zip codes, cities, states, and countries selected from the pull-down that appear when you begin typing
GEO RADIUS - allows you to select a radius of 0 - 100 miles for your Location
FOLDER - you can search for contacts by folder
JOIN DATES - select a date range for when the contact joined the talent community
TAGS -you can search for contacts with a specific tag
TYPE - you can select the type of contact:
Internal - contacts who have been designated internal employees
External - contacts who applied through the career site
Recruiter - contacts who were added manually by a recruiter
CUSTOM FIELDS - turning this on adds any existing custom fields to the search.
There is also and/or buttons for the two keyword searches as well as for the Location/GEO Radius search.
You can sort your search results using the column headers in the results.
Above the Keyword field, there is also a link to Load Last Search
Once you perform a search, a Clear Search link appears in the bottom right of the search window
For Boolean search help, notice next to the Keyword title in the search file there is an information icon.
Selecting the 'click here' link will open a Boolean search help page with useful information.
Finally, there is an icon beneath the search window on the right where you can manipulate the columns for the search results.
