Custom folders in SmashFlyX now have the same search capabilities as Contact searching has. This is only for custom folders, not for smart folders or job folders.
Open up a custom folder and you can see the search window.
There are multiple search options in the search fields:
Search Contacts - this is a general keyword search that looks in profile information for the data you are looking up. If you search for 'Lisa', the results will be all contacts with "Lisa' in the profile information. If you search for 'Lisa Smith', the results will be all 'Lisa' and all 'Smith' and rank them by relevance so Lisa Smith would be first in a large number of possibilities. This field also supports Boolean searches. There is a link Bolean Search Supported beneath this search window. Hover over the 'i' and use the 'click here' link to learn more about Boolean search possibilities.
Boolean is useful for more specific searching. For example, if I type Mark in the search window, I will get all profiles with the word Mark. However, if I use Boolean and search first_name:Mark, I will only get profiles where the first name is Mark, a smaller set than profiles where Mark is a word within the profile information.
KEYWORD Must NOT Have - Uses 'NOT' logic to search contacts. If you enter 'manager' it will return contacts that do not have the specific word 'manager' in their data. If you type 'nurse manager', it will return contacts that do not have 'nurse manager' in their data. It would show contacts who have 'nurse ER manager' since that is not the specific string.
LOCATION - use zip codes, cities, states, and countries selected from the pull-down that appear when you begin typing
GEO RADIUS - allows you to select a radius of 0 - 100 miles for your Location
TAGS -you can search for contacts with a specific tag
TYPE - you can select the type of contact:
Internal - contacts who have been designated internal employees
External - contacts who applied through the career site
Recruiter - contacts who were added manually by a recruiter
JOIN DATE - select a date range for when the contact joined the talent community
Selecting Edit Custom Fields at the bottom of the Search area will give you added options based on the custom fields in contact profiles.
Items such as Associated Messages and Landing Pages now appear after the search window.
